Sol Ivette Espejo was born in Belize City, Belize. She attended the University of Buckingham, in the United Kingdom where she obtained her LLB (1st Class Hons.) in 2015 and concluded her studies at Norman Manley Law School where she received her Legal Education Certificate. During her tenure at the University of Buckingham she was awarded the Oxford University Press Prize for Best Performance in Part 1 Examinations, Best Performance in Commercial Law Prize, Best Performance in Contract Law Prize and the Rachel Lawrence Prize for Mooting and Legal Skills.

Sol joined Courtenay Coye LLP in January 2015 as a trainee associate and became an associate of the firm in July 2017.
